Indonesia’s Premier Exhibition for Solar Power and Energy Efficiency
The Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), with support from SPRING Singapore and IE Singapore, is leading a Trade Mission to setup a Singapore Pavilion at the Indonesia Solar + Building Expo. The show will be held from 14 – 16August 2014 at the Jakarta International Trade Expo.
Opportunities present for technology providers and investors in Indonesia:
The Government of Indonesia targets to provide 17% of total energy use from renewable energy sources by 2025.
An estimated 60million people in Indonesia currently lack access to electricity.
The government of Indonesia is tendering as many as 80 projects related to the development of solar power plants, totaling up to 140MW.
State-owned financing facilities such a PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur have been setup to support investments into clean energy infrastructure projects.
The Government targets to reduce energy intensity of Indonesia by 11% by 2025.
Energy consumption in Indonesia is expected to rise by over 7% year-on-year leading to 2030.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank have committed $1.1billion for EE projects.
Local ESCOs and energy centres require technical expertise and technologies to support EE project developments.
Currently the investment potentials for Energy Efficiency investments in commercial buildings in Indonesia is value at over USD$500m, and over USD$800m for industries.
