According to a recent studyby Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), Singapore's sustainable manufacturing effort has been largely focused on energy efficiency, carbon footprint and recycling & manufacturing. The various assistance schemes like the Energy Efficiency Assistance Schemes and Certified Energy Manager Training Grant have been assisting Singapore compaines who are sustainable manufacturers. The response from the industry has been highly postive. Compaines like: 3M, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer Asia Pacific and Shell Eastern Petroleum are among the 49 companies that become the founder partners of the Energy Efficinecy National Partnership (EENP), which help to implement energy productivity projects within the compaines.
Jointly organised by Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Singapore Manufacturers Ferderation (SMa), Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), SPRING Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic (TP), the aim of the CEO Roundtable on Sustainability Solutions for Manufacturing Sector is to encourage samll number s of CEOs and corporate leaders to explore, in great detail, strategic challenges faced by organisations in sustainable manufacturing in Asia and globally as well as emerging trends, risks and opportunities. The series will bring together top executives for candid conversations about their work and industries, with ample opportunities to network. Topics to be covered inculde energy efficiency, clean technologies and renewables, carbon management, climate regulation, and supply chain management.
