Enterprise Development Working Group | A Partnership to scale up access to clean, modern energy Launced in June 2009, the Energy for all Partnership (E4ALL) provides a platform for cooperation, knowledge and technical exchange, innovation and project development, bringing together key stakeholders from business, financial instituitions, governments, and non-government organisations. The partnership is focused on action, with a goal to provide access to clean and modern energy to 100 million people in the Asia-Pacific region by 2015. E4ALL working groups seek to promote exchange of knowledge, ideas, and information; demonstrate and mainstream appropriate finnacial mechanisms; replicate and scale up proven approaches; and build partnerships to develop, finance and implement access to energy projects. | The Working Group on Enterprise Development The working group on entrprise development is aiming to develop clean energy enterprises using the model of public private partnership. A network of industry associations will be created to connect businesses, instituitions and relevant government bodies, and stimulate the growth of clean energy enterprises throughout the region. This network will improve an innovative and inspiring platform for the participating associations to develop instituitional capabilities to enhance learning, share technologies, identify sources of finance and capital, and influence capacity development in the policy area. | The folowwing activities will be pursued: - Preparing an inventory of existing clean energy associations or champions in identified countries.
- Formulation of detailed plans for individual identified countries and strategies to link the various associations and other stakeholders for mutual benefit.
- Engaging government ministries in identified countries to support the associations and provide support for activities and the development of cross-sector partnerships.
- Networking and joint learning involving all relevant stakeholders in existing and new assocaitions, as well as experts around the world, among others through internet, workshops, study tours and joint research, resulting in supra-national synergies to increase efficiency, effectiveness, innovation and accelerated growth of the sector.
- Capacity build each of the associations in terms of clean energy project development, energy efficiency audit capabilities, carbon management and financing, etc.
Where instrumental and feasible, the Working Group on Enterprise Development will actively seek cooperation with other working groups under the Energy for All Partnership. SEAS will also engage the support of organisations like the Energy Market Authority, Singapore and other similar industrial development bodies in other countries. | Covenor: Yatin Premchand Senior Business Development Manager Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) Email:
