What We Do

About The Competition

SEAS, in collaboration with the Climate Technology Initiative Private Financing Advisory Network (CTI PFAN) and International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer (ICETT) of Japan, will be holding  a Renewable Energy Investor Forum at the Clean Energy Expo Asia on 2nd November 2011, in Singapore.  This Forum will showcase high quality clean energy technologies, products or services from Singapore and around the Asia region in front of some of Asia’s leading investors. This Call For Proposals (CFP) seeks project proposals  from  clean energy entrepreneurs and businesses that are financially viable, socially responsible and environmentally beneficial. . Participation is targeted primarily at project developers, businesses and entrepreneurs based in Singapore; a limited number of places at the Forum will be available to projects and companies from the South East Asian region.

 

The Forum is being sponsored by SEAS under its recently awarded LEAD Grant. The Forum a key component of SEAS initiatives to spur the development of high quality technologies and projects emerging from Singapore to assist both local and regional growth of the renewable energy sector and access to commercially viable clean energy access. In addition In addition CTI PFAN will sponsor a number of non-Singapore based projects / businesses from the South-East Asian region to  promote the growth of regional solutions within the renewable energy sector.

 

The highest quality projects will be presented at the Forum to potential investors and financiers. The chosen finalist would be expected to be present at the forum as part of the Clean Energy Expo Asia 2011. Developers of the selected projects wll receive one-on-one coaching and mentoring from expert coaches for up to 5 days in August and September prior to the Forum. All coaching costs and travel to the Forum will be covered by CTI PFAN for the selected regional applicants. Shortlisted Singapore based applications will enjoy exclusive coaching sessions at subsidised rate for SG $3,000 per selected project. The Forum will be conducted in a competition style and awards will be presented to those proposals with a high business potential.

 

 

Eligibility

For Singapore based Projects, any company that is registered and actively operating in Singapore may participate in the Renewable Energy Investor Forum. Companies based in Singapore that are seeking project development overseas are also eligible for the grant.

For Regional Projects, any persons or company resident or actively operating and / or registered in Asia may participate in the Renewable Energy Investor Forum.

While there is no restriction on the size of the company / sponsor, the award is designed to reflect excellence in new ventures. 

Focus of Business that will be considered

The business must promote clean energy technologies, products or services that would in general include:

·       Biogas

·       Biomass

·       Clean Transport

·       Distributed Generation

·       Emission Reduction

·       Energy Efficiency

·       Energy Storage

·       Geothermal

·       Hydropower

·       Solar

·       Tidal / Ocean

·       Waste-To-Energy

·       Wind
